Our homes serve as a cradle, or cliabhán in Irish, for our everyday lives. They are also a setting which I believe profoundly impacts our psychology. While they needn’t be a mansion, or filled with the latest gadgets, hopefully our homes are spaces brimming with special moments, cherished photographs, reminders of our lives lived, and colours and textures that spark joy and encourage mindful moments. It is these spaces that I seek to create art for, from delicate watercolours and hand-carved prints, to lovingly designed textiles. Deeply inspired by the ever-changing Burren landscape as well as the blooms and buds found in my garden, my hope is that my illustrations and small-batch homewares can join other collected and curated treasures in your home to enhance daily living.
Location
The beautiful Burren landscape, with its ever-evolving light, soft and dazzling colour scheme, and abundance of wildflowers, inspires much of my work. Situated in North Clare, the Burren features unique, lunar-like mountains and lush greenery that have fed a vibrant cultural scene, from the bookshelf to the dining room table. Add the magic of the sea adjacent to it and you have a recipe for something truly remarkable. It’s no wonder it is a much celebrated part of the Wild Atlantic Way.
